I am a Jungian Psychotherapist, UKCP registered and a member of the West Midlands Institute for Psychotherapy. I have worked as a psychotherapist for 18 years, following a mental health background as a Consultant Psychiatrist. I am interested in way that past childhood trauma can impact our adult lives, individually and in our relationships. This informs my work with individuals and couples.
Because of this I have been very interested in some of the newer methods developed to deal with trauma such as the Energy Therapies and have trained in EFT, TFT, and methods taught only to psychotherapists such as AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy) and PEP (Psychoanalytic Energy Therapy).
In my experience it is a beautifully elegant method that can facilitate the healing of trauma in all its aspects and forms and can be integrated into any model of psychotherapy, but has a particular ‘fit’ with Jungian therapy.
For many years I worked as an Expert Witness in the Family Courts and am now available to provide psychotherapy in this field. If the Court or particular solicitor wishes to instruct me here is my CV for further information. JACV2012
I am also interested in the way that our inner and outer social and political worlds relate and from 2005 chaired Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility. I have a particular interest in the psychological aspects of environmental problems such as Climate Change.
